Adam Petersen joined the Southern Virginia University athletic communications department in August 2022 as an Assistant communications Director. Prior to becoming a full-time athletics employee he assisted the department in various roles, including being the lead color commentator for Knights Broadcasting, the university's athletic streaming platform.
During his time as a student, Petersen was a part of both the men's golf and lacrosse programs.
After receiving a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Southern Virginia University in December of 2020, Petersen joined the university's wellness department. Over the next year and a half he filled many roles within the department, including overseeing the COVID testing of all student-athletes.
He and his wife Sydney, also a Southern Virginia graduate, live in Buena Vista.
