Carlos Valle joined the Southern Virginia University Track & Field staff in the summer of 2026 as an Assistant Coach, specializing in the throws. Valle has over a decade of coaching experience at the highest levels of NCAA athletics and internationally, and achieved great success as an athlete himself.
Previously, Valle served as Throws Coach at Southern Utah University, his alma mater, where he earned a degree in Physical Education. For four years, he also coached for University of São Paulo's AAAOC track & field team.
Originally from Goiânia, Brazil, Valle has individually coached several athletes to success, including the Brazilian national shot put champion in 2014 and the Brazilian national discus champion in 2026. In his coaching, he values honestly, integrity, and accountability.
As a student-athlete, he was a 4x Division l national qualifier and 4x Summit League champion in the discus, and was a 3x conference champion in the shot put. Additionally, he was a Summit League meet MVP, Field Athlete of the Year, and Southern Utah's Male Athlete of the Year.
Internationally, he owns four selections to the Brazilian National Team, was an Ibero-American Championship bronze medalist, and won a silver medal in the International Athletic Grand Prix.
