Southern Virginia University

Chris Ehorn Jr.

Head Coach Joe DuPaix announced the promotion of Chris Ehorn Jr. to associate head coach, while retaining his role as defensive coordinator.

In his first season with the Knights, Ehorn Jr. played a pivotal role in one of the program’s most successful defensive campaigns.

Southern Virginia’s defense ranked second in the nation in fumble recoveries and third in defensive touchdowns. The unit also finished among the top 20 nationally in turnovers gained and ranked in the top 40 in red zone defense.

Ehorn brings extensive coaching experience at both the collegiate and high school levels. Most recently, he served as Defensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator at Westfield State University, where he led the top rushing defense in the MASCAC, produced a Conference Defensive Rookie of the Year, and developed multiple All-Conference players. Before that, he was the Special Teams Coordinator and Linebackers Coach at Western New England University, helping the team to a New England Bowl Championship while coaching a defense that allowed just 17.6 points per game.

Ehorn also has experience as a Head Coach at Amherst Regional High School, where he revitalized the program, leading the team to three league championships and a regional title, as well as a trip to the 2019 Division 5 State Finals.
