Southern Virginia University

Nick Porter is the Assistant Sports Information Director and Director of Basketball Operations at Southern Virginia University handling travel and operations for men's basketball.

He recently returned from full-time missionary service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Georgia Atlanta Mission, Spanish speaking, where he served for two years. Before his mission he served as an intern in the Athletic Communications Office and team manager for the men's basketball team.

Porter, a sophomore from South Ogden, Utah, is a Marriott Scholar and a Business Management and Leadership major and will graduate in May of 2017.

He and his wife Merrilyn were married in May and live in Buena Vista.
