Adam Wardenburg

Adam Wardenburg was named Southern Virginia University's head men's basketball coach in May 2019. 

During his tenure the team’s record has improved every year, going from 1-24 in his first year to 14-12 in his second full season. The 2021-22 season also marked the first winning season since SVU became a NCAA division 3 school. He has also successfully recruited two state MVP’s, and multiple all state selections.

During the 2021-22 season, SVU set many NCAA D3 school records. They set school records in points per game, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, most threes in a season, most three-point shots made in a game and most assists in a season.
They also set a school record for wins in a season with 14.

During the 2018-19 season, Wardenburg led the Southern Virginia University women's basketball program to the most successful season in the program's history since joining Division III. The Knights won a record 21 games and finished runner-up at the Capital
Athletic Conference Championships, the program's highest finish. He was named the Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. 

Wardenburg has had success at Division I and junior college levels. Most recently he served as an assistant women’s basketball coach and recruiting coordinator for four seasons at Utah Valley University. He helped lead the Wolverines to appearances in the
WAC Tournament semifinals for the first two times in program history. 

Before his stint at UVU, Wardenburg spent the 2013-14 season on the staff at the College of Southern Idaho where he helped the Golden Eagles to a 29-4 record, a Region 18 Tournament title, and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament.

Prior to CSI, Wardenburg served as the Director of Basketball Operations for the women’s team at Utah State University. 

Wardenburg received his bachelor’s degree in human movement science from Utah State and holds an MBA from Western Governor’s University.

The Orem, Utah native and his wife Tristan are the parents of three daughters and one son; Blakely, Emery, Indie, and Brooks.
