PROVO, Utah—The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team dropped its first road game of the season at NCAA Division I Brigham Young University, 101-48, Wednesday night at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah.
Preston Eaton led the Knights for a second straight game with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists. David Baety pitched in seven off three field goals and one three. Center Ben Canevari added six points of his own. Freshman Taylor Larson added four points and five rebounds.
The Knights struggled with ball control as their 26 turnovers led to 35 Cougar points.
Freshman guard Jake Toolson led the Cougars with 15 points and seven rebounds. Tyler Haws and Issac Neilson added 13 points apiece. Neilson and Frank Bartley IV each added seven rebounds towards the Cougar victory. Luke Worthington pitched in 12 points and four rebounds. Dalton Nixon, Anson Winder, and Chase Fischer each added 10 points and a total of six rebounds.
Southern Virginia will head back east to face Roanoke College in the Dick Leftwich/V Foundation Classic hosted by Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, on Friday, Nov. 21. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
