Buena Vista, Va. – The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2025-26 Men's Basketball All-Conference awards, and Southern Virginia collected major honors as the program continues its rise within the conference.
Head coach Trace Bevell was named USA South Coach of the Year, becoming the first men's basketball coach in program history to earn the honor. In his third season at the helm, Bevell guided the Knights to a historic 10-4 conference record — the most league wins since Southern Virginia joined the USA South in 2021-22. After being picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll for the second straight year, the Knights exceeded expectations with another third-place finish in the standings.
Southern Virginia led the conference in free-throw percentage and rebounding margin while ranking second in field-goal percentage, highlighting the team's efficiency and balanced attack throughout the season.
Freshman center Ashton Davis was named USA South Rookie of the Year, becoming just the second Knight in program history to earn the award (Koa Baker, 2022-23). The Apex, North Carolina native averaged 11.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game during the regular season, elevating his production in conference play to 13.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. Davis' impact was recognized weekly as well, earning USA South Rookie of the Week honors seven times.
Tillman Johnson secured First Team All-Conference recognition, marking his second all-conference honor in just two seasons with the Knights. The high-IQ, versatile playmaker averaged 14.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while ranking second in the conference with 4.6 assists per contest. Johnson also surpassed the 1,000-career point milestone this season, underscoring his offensive consistency and leadership.
DJ Green earned Second Team All-Conference honors following a career-best campaign. Green averaged 15.4 points per game, ranking sixth in the conference, and led the league in total three-pointers made. Among players with at least 50 made threes, he also posted the highest three-point percentage at 40.7 percent. Green surpassed 1,000 career points this season, finishing his career as one of the top five scorers in program history.
Hyrum McConkie was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship Team after taking a significant step forward in his sophomore season. McConkie appeared in all 27 games and recorded a team-high 11 blocks, providing key minutes and leadership throughout the year.
With a record four major honorees and the program's first Coach of the Year award, Southern Virginia continues to build a standard of excellence in the USA South and looks poised for continued success in the seasons ahead.
