Box Score DOVER, Del.—The Southern Virginia softball team fell to 0-21 today as they fell at Wesley College in a league double header 9-0 and 15-3 at Dupont Field.
Wesley College, who improved to 3-9 in the CAC (20-11 overall), threw a no-hitter in game one, the third time the Knights (0-21, 0-12) have been no-hit this season. The Wolverine's Lindsay Siok struck out four Knights in her first no-hitter of the year.
Wesley scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth, the latter two coming from a walk-off double to right field.
In game two the Knights were able to get on the board early, scoring two in the top of the first. With two outs MaKenzie Cox and Jamie Pinkston each singled to set up a two RBI double for right fielder Bailey Brannan down the leftfield line.
The Wolverines would score six in the bottom of the first and four in the bottom of the second before the Knights would score their third and final run of the game.
With one out in the top of the third shortstop Annie Biggs singled to left field, followed by a Cox single to right field. A Pinkston groundout would move the runners into scoring position for Brannan, who reached first on a throwing error and scored Biggs for run number three.
Pinkston had the Knights only other hit in the fifth inning when she doubled down the rightfield line but was stranded on base.
The Knights are back in action in the final league double header of the year tomorrow at Salisbury University.
