NEWPORT NEWS, Va.—The Southern Virginia men's basketball team dropped their fourth straight game against conference opponent Christopher Newport, falling to the Captains 75-40.
The Knights (3-8, 2-2 CAC) struggled to put points on the board shooting a season-low 25.9%. Cale Thornton led the offense with 11 points and four rebounds. David Baety chipped in seven points.
The Captains (10-1, 4-0 CAC) are ranked 11th accoring to D3hoops.com.
Southern Virignia will look for some momentum as they return home on Wednesday to host St. Mary's (Md.). Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Knight Sports Arena.
