Box Score 2 Plymouth, Wis.—The Southern Virginia University men's volleyball team squandered two sets to none lead against Lakeland University on Saturday night snapping their 14 game win-streak 3-2.
The Knights (17-2) won the first game handily, 25-19, recording 14 kills and only three errors on a .379 hitting percentage.
Game two went similarly to game one with Southern Virginia coming out on top 25-22 recording the same number of kills and errors, 14 and three, and improving their hitting percentage to .407.
In the third, the Muskies (9-11) led throughout the entire game and ended up routing the Knights 25-21.
Game four was a back and forth battle that featured several lead changes. With the score tied at 23-23, Lakeland was able to record two consecutive kills to take the game 25-23.
Game five was again point-for-point as the Knights found themselves on top 14-13 serving for the match. On match point, Southern Virginia missed the serve and then recorded two straight errors dropping the game 15-13 and the match 3-2.
Nahuel Recabarren and Cougar Clark led the way for Southern Virginia recording 22 and 11 kills respectively on the game. Kaipo Tagaloa also had a big game for the Knights with a game-high 47 assists and a season-high 21 digs.
The Knights look to get back on track as they travel to Randolph-Macon to face-off against the Yellow Jackets on the 23rd of March at 4 p.m.
