WASHINGTON, DC. — The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team dropped their midweek game Wednesday night, falling to Catholic University 74-58.

• The Knights started with a solid half of play, with Malakai Olson leading the way with 13 points and six rebounds
• Conner Marchant aided Olson, adding 11 points and two rebounds
• Heading into the halftime break, Southern Virginia held the 36-31 lead shooting 45.8% from the field and 41.7% from three
• The Knights struggled in the second half, only scoring 22 points, while the Cardinals offense came out hot, scoring 43
• With their second-half dominance, Catholic snagged the 74-58 win against Southern Virginia
• The Knights collected 30 total rebounds, 22 points in the paint, and dished out six assists

Southern Virginia will look to bounce back, taking on Averett on the road Wednesday, January 12. Game time is scheduled for 5 pm.
