JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI — The Southern Virginia University Football team traveled to conference newcomer Belhaven University to take on the Blazers in week eight of the 2022 season, with Belhaven dominating the game, taking home the 42-6 victory.
Game Notes:
- The Blazers quickly jumped to a 14-0 lead over the Knights off a two-yard touchdown rush by Bogan Brewer, completing the nine-play, 76-yard drive
- Belhaven added one more touchdown before the end of the first quarter, with Kolbe Blunt rushing 22 yards to the house, putting the team up 21-0
- At the start of the second quarter, Devin Daniels recorded his first touchdown, and the teams' fourth rushing touchdown of the game, going ten yards to the endzone
- The Blazers went into the halftime break with the 35-0 lead, off a second Kolbe Blunt 35-yard rushing touchdown
- Belhaven scored their final touchdown of the game in the third quarter, off Blunt's third touchdown of the game
- With 8:25 remaining in the game, Southern Virginia scored their lone touchdown of the game after Isaiah Maxey connected with Clinton Boxley for the 37-yard touchdown
