TOWSON, Md. - The Southern Virginia University Field Hockey team dropped a road contest to Goucher College on a rainy Tuesday night, 3-1.

How it Happened
First Quarter
The Knights held the Gophers scoreless through the first quarter as goalie
Keira White made two stops
Second Quarter
Goucher got on the board first with a goal early into the second quarter. The score would prove to be the only one for either team in the period.
Third Quarter
Southern Virginia tied the game early in the third quarter with a goal from Freshman phenom
Carly Hoffer, coming just fifty four seconds into the quarter. Goucher would go on to score its final two goals of the match to go up 3-1.
Fourth Quarter
The Knights dominated the shot total in the fourth quarter, taking six of the final seven shots in the game, but were unable to get on the scoreboard as the Gophers goalie stood on her head, turning away every shot she faced.

Southern Virginia University Field Hockey is back in action next week at home in Knight Stadium, going up against Eastern Mennonite University on October 10 at 6 p.m.
