BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University Women's Soccer team traveled to Ives-Lemel Family Field in Brevard, North Carolina to take on Brevard College in a USA South showdown. After 90 minutes, the Knights and the Tornados tied 1-1.
How It Happened:
In the 11
th minute,
Matia Murray got the offense going with a shot on goal towards the bottom center area, but Nicole Arroyo was there to make the save.
Following two shots from
Maybel Harris and
Ella Thomas, Thomas spotted
Morgan Romney who put the ball past Brevard's goalkeeper, scoring her third goal of the season in the 36
th minute, putting the Knights up 1-0.
Three minutes later, the Tornados got their first shot of the game off, resulting in a goal by Mikayla Zvekan, knotting the match up at one.
In the second half, both teams were presented equal scoring opportunities with each team firing three shots apiece, but the defense and goalkeepers stood tall, denying each chance.
The final whistle blew with the game resulting in a tie, bringing Southern Virginia's overall record to 5-5-1.

The Knights travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to take on Salem College on Tuesday, October 11. Game time is set for 3 pm.
