WINCHESTER, Va. – The Southern Virginia University Men's Soccer team traveled to Shenandoah University Wednesday night and fell at the hands of the Hornets.
This was the fifth overall meeting between the programs, with Shenandoah moving to 4-1 against Southern Virginia.
The Knights' lone victory against the Hornets came on the road in 2019 in a match that went to overtime. Goalkeeper Jacob Solis was awarded the win after recording nine saves on the evening. Zach Martin put the game to bed for the Knights with a 94
th minute goal.
Shenandoah moves to 2-1-1 on the season, winning their first home matchup of the campaign. The Hornets gave their fans a lot to cheer for, scoring five first half goals and seven on the night.
Senior goalkeeper,
Spencer Young, made three saves in his first start this season for the Knights.
Southern Virginia will continue their play on the road on Saturday, September 17, when they travel to Arlington, Virginia, to face off against Marymount University. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
