LANCASTER, Pa. – The Southern Virginia University field hockey team dropped a road contest to Lancaster Bible College Saturday night.
In the second overall matchup between the programs, the Chargers were able to come away with a 2-0 victory.
The first quarter ended in a scoreless stalemate with both teams getting just one shot off, neither forcing saves.
Lancaster Bible got on the board in the second quarter after a goal by Hannah Hoffman.
Southern Virginia dug in defensively and limited the Chargers' offensive opportunities for the rest of the first half.
At the beginning of the third quarter, Lancaster Bible added to their lead quickly. Alexis Gilbert's goal gave the Chargers a 2-0 lead and the score would not change for the rest of the contest.
The Knights now have an extended break, with 10 days before their next game when they take on Goucher College on October, 4, in their third straight road game.
