Southern Virginia Looking Forward to First Conference Meet with Roanoke College

BUENA VISTA- Va, The Southern Virginia University wrestling team is set to compete in its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference match in school history, as they take on Roanoke College on Wednesday, January 11. The Knights are currently sitting with a 1-0 record after an early season blasting of Patrick & Henry Community College 51-3. The Maroons come into the match with a 3-1 overall record, while being undefeated with a 2-0 record in ODAC competition.

Coaches Quote:
Coach Brigg Hoopes on what he is looking forward to most in the match. "This is our first dual as part of the ODAC, so we are excited to get that started and see where we stand. Roanoke has a really tough team so we are excited to compete in a dual setting."

Key Wrestlers:
Southern Virginia will be led by Morgan Peterson, Francisco Ramirez, and Elijah Blackwell. Peterson is coming off a first place finish at the Jim Crytzer Invitational, while Blackwell and Ramirez earned second and third place honors respectively.

The match against the Maroons starts at 6 p.m. in the Knight Arena.
