Fayetteville, NC - The Southern Virginia Men's Soccer team traveled to Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC, on a rainy Saturday evening and fell 0-2 after two second-half goals.
The Knights came out with high intensity, pressing up the pitch and applying pressure to the Monarchs when
Benjamin Simister had a close scoring chance in the second minute, but Methodist goalkeeper, Trey Gohr made an impressive save to keep his opposition off the board.
Both teams battled through the rain and went into the half scoreless after a back-and-forth first half.

The Knights did not give up and rattled off four shots and two corners in the remainder of the half but could not find the net.
The tough-minded defense showed resilience with great hustle on defense as well as seven saves from
Treyden Stringham.
