Southern Virginia Women’s Soccer Remains Undefeated in Conference Play with 7-1 Victory Over Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, NC. – In a resounding match, the Southern Virginia University Knights faced off against the Pfeiffer University Falcons, resulting in a commanding 7-1 victory for the Knights. The game saw goals from Matia Murray, Makinna Winterton, Ellie Owen, Natalie Blaser, and Emmy Giles for Southern Virginia, while Khamani Spencer found the net for Pfeiffer.

The action began swiftly, with Matia Murray scoring the first goal for the Knights at just 2 minutes and 53 seconds into the game, with an assist from Maybel Harris. The early lead set the tone for Southern Virginia, showcasing their offensive prowess.

Makinna Winterton continued the Knights' goal-scoring spree, finding the back of the net at the 19-minute mark, with Audrey McKeon providing the assist. Winterton's impressive performance didn't stop there, as she secured her second goal at the 23-minute mark, again with the assistance of Audrey McKeon.

The Knights maintained their offensive pressure as Ellie Owen scored the fourth goal of the match at 25 minutes and 28 seconds, with Ella Thomas providing the assist. Pfeiffer responded with a goal by Khamani Spencer, who was assisted by Rory Hayden, at 37 minutes and 42 seconds.

Makinna Winterton scored her third goal at 49 minutes and 59 seconds, once again assisted by Audrey McKeon. Natalie Blaser joined the list of goal-scorers for the Knights at 73 minutes and 34 seconds, with Bailey Ricker providing the assist. The final goal of the match came from Emmy Giles at 79 minutes and 30 seconds, assisted by Makinna Winterton, sealing the 7-1 victory for Southern Virginia.

The Knights' performance was characterized by effective teamwork, precise passing, and clinical finishing. They demonstrated their ability to maintain control throughout the game and secure a well-deserved victory.
