BUENA VISTA, VA. — In their second conference matchup of the week, the Southern Virginia University Women's Volleyball team earned a hard-fought victory over William Peace Saturday afternoon in five sets.
After trading set wins at the beginning of the match, the Knights rallied in the fourth set and ultimately came together to take home the victory.
Southern Virginia was led by the veteran leadership of
Sydney Bassett, who recorded a game-high 18 kills along with four aces and 20 digs.
Madison Green continues her surge within the league with her presence at the net, leading all players in the conference with .88 blocks per set in conference play.
The Knights were anchored on both sides of the ball, with
Sarah Hoofman dishing out 36 assists while
Jessica Ensley tallied 31 digs to keep the team in contention for victory.
Southern Virginia hits the road, heading to Greensboro College to take on the Pride on Wednesday, October 25, at 6 p.m.
