DOUGLASVILLE, GA - Southern Virginia Men's Golf Team had an eventful two days of competition, experiencing highs and lows as the competition came to a close Tuesday afternoon.
On the opening day,
Nick Johnson emerged as a standout performer for the Knights. He got off to a blazing start and only continued that on the second day when he carded a back-to-back 73. Johnson had a rough start to the day but then turned things around with Birdie on the 8th hole to change his momentum.
His consistent play and skillful performance over both days helped him secure a tied 13th-place finish out of the 96 participants in the tournament.
Brogan Bennett had a great turnaround performance after finding himself struggling on the first day as he jumped up 26 places in the rankings by carding a 73 as well.
The Southern Virginia Men's Golf Team finished 15th in the tournament and will look to regroup and continue to work towards the upcoming Knight Invitational in Lexington, VA on Monday, October 9th, and Tuesday, October 10th.
