LEXINGTON, VA - The Southern Virginia men's basketball team (3-3) faced off against cross-town rival Washington and Lee (4-1) on Tuesday afternoon in a game that proved to be intense and fast-paced.
Despite the Knights' early struggles with turnovers, they managed to create opportunities. However, their inability to establish a rhythm on the court led them to trail significantly at halftime, with a score of 27-49.
Entering the second half, the Knights displayed promising signs, highlighted by an early block from Malakai Olson and improved scoring inside the paint courtesy of Koa Baker and Tyler Kartchner. Nonetheless, the Generals' defense regrouped, stifling the Knights' efforts, resulting in a final score of 67-97 in favor of Washington and Lee.
Looking ahead, the Knights aim to regroup and stage a comeback as they prepare to host the University of Mary Washington on Wednesday, November 29th, at 7:00 PM. Mary Washington holds a 4-2 record and promises to be another challenging opponent for the Knights.
