BUENA VISTA, VA. — In a one-sided effort, the Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 20-1 victory over William Peace, tying a program record for goals allowed in a game.
Piper Searle started off the scoring at the 14:21 mark of the first quarter, setting up an 18-0 scoring run that extended into the fourth quarter.
William Peace got their lone goal of the game in the fourth quarter with just over ten minutes remaining of the game by Samantha Autry.
McKayla Martin and
Ashlynn Sanger added two more unassisted goals to the wrap up the game with the Knights walking away with the 20-1 victory.
Alissa Johnson led all players with seven points off four goals and three assists, while
Roxy LeBaron added four points with a hat-trick and an assist.
The Knights take a brief pause from conference play, traveling to Fredericksburg, Virginia, on Tuesday, April 11, to take on the University of Mary Washington at 3 pm.
