Bennett, McCaffrey and Johnson Lead Knights To A Fourth Place Finish At Kinder Williams Invitational

HARRISONBURG, Va - The Southern Virginia Men's Golf Team continued to make waves as they wrapped up the Kinder Williams Invitational, with Brogan Bennett emerging as the standout performer.

Brogan Bennett put on a remarkable display, carding a 68. This score not only secured him a tie for the individual lead but also tied the Southern Virginia's scoring record for 18 holes. After tying for first there was a three-way playoff for the first-place title in which he finished runner-up taking home second for the Knights.

Michael McCaffrey saw success as he finished the tournament in 13th place in this tournament. McCaffrey recorded the program's first-ever double eagle on the par 5 2nd hole from 170 yards out.

Newcomer Nick Johnson who secured the 18th spot, was solid throughout the tournament and helped the team to finish fourth overall out of 17 teams at the tournament.

Another bright spot for the team was freshmen Coleman Oettli and Robby Nielsen who both made their mark on the tournament and delivered impressive performances signaling a bright future for the team.

The men's team looks to continue their success as they travel to Winchester, Virginia, for the Glory Days Invitational, which begins Monday, September, 25th.
