FERRUM, Va. – The Southern Virginia University Men's Soccer team faced a formidable Ferrum College squad on Saturday night, resulting in a hard-fought battle ending with a 0-2 scoreline.
In a thrilling matchup, the Knights squared off against the Ferrum College Panthers, where a contested first half had both teams finding themselves with close scoring opportunities. Despite the Knights notching up three corner kicks, they couldn't break through the resilient Panther defense before the halftime whistle blew.
After the halftime break, the Panthers started to put more pressure on the ball before taking advantage of a corner to find the back of the net and put the Knights behind 0-1.
The Panthers then put the game to bed when Jadon Brooks found the back of the net and pushed the score to 0-2.
Southern Virginia's goalkeeper,
Treyden Stringham, delivered a great performance by making an astonishing ten saves, stopping the momentum for the Panthers offense.
