ASHLAND, VA - The Southern Virginia Field Hockey team fell in a road contest to the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon by a score of 0-9.
Randolph-Macon got off to a hot start, scoring three first quarter goals, and then four in the second quarter
Out of the half, the Knights bounced back, holding the Yellow Jackets to just two goal overs the next two quarters, but struggled to get going offensively, failing to record a shot in the game.
On the defensive side of the ball,
Makaila Gillardo did all she could in goal to keep her team in the game, making 14 saves on the day.
Southern Virginia will now return home to prepare for their next match against Hood College on Monday, October 2nd. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
