ROCKY MOUNT, NC. — On Saturday afternoon, the Southern Virginia University Women's Volleyball team traveled to NC Wesleyan for a doubleheader weekend against the Bishops and Brevard College. After a hard-fought day, the Knights split the day, falling to the Bishops and taking down the Tornados.
Game One Notes: NC Wesleyan
- Sydney Bassett had a solid outing, recording a team-high 13 kills, followed by Brookelyn Madland's ten
- Madland made her presence known from the service line, recorded an impressive four aces
- Jessica Ensley held her ground defensively, recording 25 digs and two aces
Game Two Notes: Brevard
- Bassett had a monster game, tallying a game-high 20 kills while Madland added 16
- Ensley continued her impressive performance with 32 digs and three aces
- Jilane Pedersen stepped up big, recording four blocks
- After falling 2-0 early in the match, the Knights rallied together, completing the reverse sweep against the Tornados
The Knights take a brief pause from conference competition, taking on Eastern Mennonite on the road on Tuesday, October 3rd, at 6 p.m.
