Buena Vista, VA - The women's basketball team extended their winning streak with their sixth consecutive victory, following up their triumph over Brevard College with a commanding 41-point win over Pfeiffer University, finishing with a score of 77-36.
The Knights asserted control from the outset, initiating an impressive 18-0 run at the beginning of the game. The dominant first quarter showcased Southern Virginia's remarkable shooting, as they achieved an 81.82% success rate from the field and a 66.67% accuracy from behind the arc.
The offensive pressure from the Knights remained relentless, with 20-point quarters in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th quarters. The team displayed a balanced offensive attack, with 12 players contributing points. They particularly excelled in the paint, securing a rebound differential of 47 compared to the Falcons' 26 in the game.
Maria Savvun and Ruth Kempler both led the Knights with game-high scores of 13 points, with Kempler achieving her third double-double of the season by adding 11 boards to her performance. Aysia Foster contributed an efficient 10 points and showcased her prowess in the paint with a season-high 3 blocks.
