Staunton, VA - The Southern Virginia women's basketball team asserted their dominance with an impressive season-high 90-53 victory over Mary Baldwin University, improving their season record to 8-4 and maintaining an undefeated 6-0 streak in the conference.
The Knights seized control early on, securing the lead with a opening three-pointer by Maria Savvun and maintaining their advantage for the remaining 38 minutes of play.
Displaying a well-rounded offensive strategy, Southern Virginia had fourteen different players contributing points throughout the game.
Ruth Kemper nearly achieved a double-double, making a significant impact with 12 points and nine rebounds. Anna Claytor and Camilla Norton also contributed double-digit scores for the Knights, tallying 12 and 10 points respectively.
Dominating their opponents in shooting proficiency, the Knights outperformed Mary Baldwin by shooting 42.9% from the field (27-63), 38.9% from beyond the arc (7-18), and sinking 29 free throws to secure a comfortable victory.
