Second-Half Goals Sink Knights Women’s Soccer in Conference Clash

Brevard, N.C. – The Southern Virginia University women's soccer team fell 2-0 in a hard-fought conference matchup against Brevard College.

The Knights held their ground in the first half, creating a corner kick opportunity and a shot on goal. Despite struggling with possession, as Brevard outshot them 9-1, Southern Virginia's defense kept the Tornadoes scoreless with Chloë Miller making four critical saves, sending the game into halftime at 0-0.

The second half saw both teams battling to take control, exchanging shots and building offensive momentum. Brevard finally broke through in the 56th minute off a corner kick, putting the Knights on the defensive. The Tornadoes struck again in the 68th minute, doubling their lead. Southern Virginia rallied with two shots and a late corner kick but was unable to find the back of the net, ending in a 2-0 defeat.

This game wraps up the Knights' road schedule, and they'll look to close out the regular season strong at home on Wednesday, October 30, against Mary Baldwin University as they prepare for the conference tournament starting Saturday.
