Buena Vista, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team displayed commanding dominance over the Bridgewater Eagles, securing a decisive 6-1 victory.
The match began with an impressive performance in doubles, as the Knights swept all three contests. At #1 doubles, Nate Walton and Trent McBride claimed a solid 6-3 win. Jared Pitcher and Chase Rishel followed with a commanding 6-1 victory at #2 doubles, while Traejen Kingston and Jacob Feldman clinched a strong 6-3 win at #3 doubles, giving the Knights a perfect start.
In singles play, the Knights maintained their momentum. Jared Pitcher led the charge at #1 singles, earning a well-deserved 6-2, 6-4 victory. At #2 singles, Nate Walton delivered a commanding performance, winning 6-1, 6-0.
Although Trent McBride fought hard at #3 singles, he ultimately fell short in a competitive match, 2-6, 3-6. Traejen Kingston showcased his strength at #4 singles with a decisive 6-0, 6-2 win. Chase Rishel swiftly claimed victory at #5 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 performance, while Jacob Feldman sealed the final singles match at #6 with a hard-fought 6-1, 6-4 win, leading the Knights to a 6-1 match victory.
The Knights demonstrated resilience and skill, highlighting their continued improvement on the court. They now set their sights on the upcoming home match on Thursday, October 10th, against Roanoke College in Buena Vista, VA
