Lexington, VA - The Southern Virginia University men's and women's swim teams visited the W&L Natatorium for a dual meet with the Generals. The Knights put together several season best performances, but ultimately, both teams suffered losses by evening's end.
Jesi Fuhriman was a standout performer on the women's side, capturing second place in three separate events to continue a strong start to her freshman campaign. Fuhriman's time in the 50 freestyle was half a second better than her previous season best. She narrowly missed out on first place, finishing just a tenth of second behind.
Jamie Horne also competed well and went stroke for stroke with Fuhriman and the leaders in the 50 freestyle. Her time of 25.04 is also a season best and brought her to a third place finish. The duo went on to finish second and third in the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly as well, providing another glimpse of the formidable one-two punch that they've formed.
Roman Nowell and Ned Hill produced the best finishes on the men's side, claiming the second and third spots in the 100 freestyle, smashing their best times of the season. Nowell finished in a time of 49.61 while Hill followed in 50.31. Nowell also stood out on the men's side by claiming second place in three events.

By the end of the day, the women's team was able to accumulate fifteen, top-three finishes and the men gathered eight. For their next meet, the Knights will travel to North Carolina to compete with Greensboro and Piedmont on Saturday, November 6th. Events will begin at 1:00 PM.
