Buena Vista, Va. — In the team's home opener in Knight Arena, the Southern Virginia University Men's Lacrosse team took on Roanoke College on Wednesday night under the lights. The Maroons proved to be too much for the Knights, taking the squad down 21-9.
Amongst everything,
Gabe King proved to be the dominant presence for the team, recording a team-best five goals in front of the home crowd, while
Clay Haacke added two.
Michael Brown continues his hot streak, scoring his third goal of the year as a defender.
Although keeping everything close in the first quarter, Roanoke jumped ahead in the second quarter 11-4 and did not look back. Wyatt Whitlow led his squad the remainder of the game, leading his team to the 21-9 victory.
The Knights will look to bounce back against Hampden-Sydney on the road on Saturday, February 17th.
