Southern Virginia Women's Lacrosse Unable To Overcome Hornets

Lynchburg, VA - The Southern Virginia women's lacrosse team faced a challenging match against the Hornets of the University of Lynchburg, ultimately falling with a scoreline of 5-20.

The Knights began strongly, with Kiah Baisden notching a hat trick in just four minutes. Piper Searle's fifth goal of the season extended the Knights' lead to 4-1, but the momentum shifted as the Hornets swiftly equalized and then surged ahead with four unanswered goals in a six-minute span.

The second quarter saw the Lynchburg offense in relentless form, scoring 10 goals, leaving the Knights struggling to regain control.

Southern Virginia managed to find their last goal in the 4th quarter when Kenzie Poulsen scored her fourth goal of the season. However, the lead proved insurmountable, and the Knights eventually fell 5-20.

Looking ahead, the Knights aim to bounce back as they prepare to host a three-game homestand starting on Saturday, March 9th, against Wittenberg, with the game set to commence at 11:00 AM.
