Brevard, NC - In their first 3-game series against a conference opponent this season, the Southern Virginia baseball team fell just short of a win this weekend against the Brevard College Tornados. The Knights lost their Friday matchup 6-7, and dropped both their games on Saturday 10-12 and 3-4.

With an average margin of loss of just 1.3 runs, the Knights fought hard in all 3 competitions, even out hitting the Tornados in 2 of the 3 games.

Among some great offensive play, 3B Marcelino Leornardo Jr. stood out in each game, tallying 6 total RBIs off of 4 hits, a home run, 2 doubles, and 1 single. A pair of his teammates also had home runs this weekend: CF

Southern Virginia will take a short break from conference play, traveling down the road to Lexington, VA to face off against Washington and Lee University this Tuesday, March 19th at 6 pm.
