Buena Vista, VA - The Southern Virginia University's women's tennis team delivered an outstanding performance, sweeping both doubles and singles matches in a dominant 9-0 victory over East Stroudsburg University.
The day began with the doubles matches, where Southern Virginia's pairs showcased their skill. In the #1 Doubles matchup, Paula Snelson and Jillian Arnold extended their impressive winning streak to 7-0 together, securing a decisive 8-0 victory. Lydia Delich and Ella Dalby continued the momentum in the #2 Doubles, claiming an 8-4 victory, while Grace Howell and Maddy Fisher completed the clean sweep in doubles with an 8-4 win in the #3 Doubles.
Moving on to singles play, Southern Virginia maintained their dominance on the court. Paula Snelson led the charge in the singles, delivering a flawless performance and securing victory with a 6-0, 6-0 win.. Lydia Delich replicated this commanding display in the #2 Singles,with scores of 6-0, 6-1.
Jillian Arnold demonstrated her skills in the #3 Singles, clinching victory with scores of 6-1, 6-1. Following suit, Ella Dalby secured another straight-set victory in the #4 Singles with scores of 6-1, 6-2.
Grace Howell delivered a superb performance in the #5 Singles, winning both sets 6-4, 6-0, while Elizabeth Ursenbach closed out the day with an impressive victory in the #6 Singles, triumphing with scores of 6-1, 6-1.
The Knights will enjoy some well-deserved rest before resuming conference action with a matchup against Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, VA, scheduled for Wednesday, March 27th.
