Buena Vista, VA - The Southern Virginia Men's Volleyball team continued its remarkable undefeated streak, improving to 20-0 for the season by securing their 60th consecutive set victory. The Knights showcased their dominance by dismantling the Chargers in a straight-set victory with scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 25-17.
The match was a testament to Southern Virginia's depth and versatility, with twelve players contributing to a well-rounded team performance. The Knights excelled on both offense and defense, registering seven blocks, ten service aces, and 34 kills over the course of the match.
Leading the charge was Christian Sheaffer, who was recently named the AVCA Division III Player of the Week. Sheaffer topped the team's stats with nine kills and a game-high four service aces. Samuel Candlan made significant contributions as well, adding six kills to the team's total.
Tyler Sheaffer played a pivotal role in setting up the team's offense, recording his 11th match of the season with at least 30 assists, alongside four digs and two blocks, further highlighting the team's comprehensive strength.
Looking ahead, the Knights are gearing up for the challenging matches that lie in the Continental Volleyball Conference. Their next encounter is against Juniata College, a formidable opponent on a eleven-match winning streak and currently ranked #8 in the AVCA Poll. As the season progresses, Southern Virginia remains a team to watch, ready to face and overcome the challenges ahead.
