Williamsburg, Va. - The Southern Virginia men's golf team teed off at the Glenn Heath Memorial Invite, hosted by The Apprentice School, amidst stiff competition from predominantly Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) schools. At the end of the day's play, the Knights found themselves tied for eighth place out of 14 schools, posting a combined score of +27, putting them tied with Shenandoah's B Team.
Leading the charge for the Knights was Brogan Bennett, who finished the day tied for 10th place with a score of +3 (75). He demonstrated steady play throughout the round, contributing to the team's solid performance. Michael McCaffrey followed, finishing tied for 53rd place with a score of +12 (84), while Nick Johnson and Luke Wilson posted scores of +6 (78) and +7 (79) respectively, placing them tied for 24th and 33rd.
The team's B-Team, meanwhile, found themselves in 12th place, with Robby Nielsen leading the charge, tied for 33rd with a score of +7 (79). Jameson Harper, Ethan Campbell, and Mason Schlensker contributed to the team's effort, each posting scores of +21 (93), +17 (89), and +8 (80) respectively.
As the Knights head into day two of the Glenn Heath Memorial Invite, they are poised to climb up the leaderboard. With strong performances from both their A and B teams, coupled with their determination and competitive spirit, the Knights are eager to make their mark in the upcoming rounds of play.
