WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Southern Virginia University 'A' and 'B' teams continued their participation in the Glen Heath Memorial Tournament hosted by the Apprentice School at Williamsburg Country Club in Williamsburg, Va.

The course, a par 72 layout stretching 6,745 yards from the tips, presented a challenging test for the competitors. After the conclusion of day one, the 'A' squad found themselves tied for 8th place with a collective score of +27, while the 'B' squad occupied the 12th position.

As the tournament drew to a close, the 'A' team maintained their position, despite an improved performance, finishing with a cumulative score of +21. Notable was Brogan Bennett's exceptional play, as he delivered a remarkable -1 under par performance for the day.

Coach Blair Garner praised Bennett's performance, highlighting his eagle on the first hole, where he holed out from 90 yards, and his stellar play throughout the round. Garner emphasized Bennett's crucial pars on the final two holes, which contributed to his low round of the day.

Michael McCaffrey finished the tournament at +15 overall, with a score of +9 on day two, placing him in a tie for 32nd. Nick Johnson followed closely behind at +18 overall, securing the 39th position after a challenging second round where he carded a +12. Robby Nielsen rounded out the team's performance, finishing at +19 overall and in 45th place.

Looking ahead, Southern Virginia eagerly anticipates the culmination of their season at the USA South Championship in Spartanburg, SC on April 22nd. With a strong showing at the Glen Heath Memorial Tournament, the Knights are poised to carry their momentum into the championship event.
