Brevard, NC - The Southern Virginia women's tennis team concluded their season with an impressive 7-1 record in conference play and a stellar overall record of 14-2, despite a setback in non-conference action against Sweet Briar. However, they swiftly rebounded with a commanding 7-2 victory over Brevard College, securing the #2 seed in conference play.
In a notable individual performance, Paula Snelson secured the lone win against Sweet Briar in the #1 spot, showcasing her prowess with a 6-2, 6-4 victory. Against Brevard, the Knights dominated in doubles action, with Snelson, Jillian Arnold, Lia Savage, Remly Fry, Lydia Delich, and Grace Howell all contributing victories.
Snelson continued her stellar play with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 sweep in the #1 spot, while Lydia Delich delivered an impressive performance with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the #2 singles spot. Fry and Savage further solidified the team's victory by quickly securing wins in the #4 and #5 singles matches.
With their strong showing, the Knights now turn their attention to the 2024 USA South Women's Tennis Tournament, where they will host Meredith College on Tuesday, April 23rd for their first-round matchup.
