Buena Vista, Va. - On a clear, cool, Saturday afternoon the Southern Virginia University Knights took on the North Carolina Wesleyan University Battling Bishops in a double header. The Knights split the series with the Bishops, winning 4-3 and losing 4-2.

In game one the Knights opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with a
Katie Claytor double to center field. Claytor recorded an RBI, bringing
Madison Lloyd home to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Later, in the third inning the Bishops scored three runs, putting the Knights in a checkmate, gaining a 3-1 lead. The Knights couldn't recover from that deficit, despite an
Abby Southern RBI single to end the game at 4-2.

The Knights got right back up in game two and came out swinging in the first inning, gaining a 1-0 lead. Claytor shot an RBI single to right field that brought in
Arianna Hall. The Bishops bounced back with a barrage of three runs in the top of the third inning. The Knights spent the rest of the game down by two runs, stuck at a score of 3-1.

The bottom of the seventh found the Knights down with their backs against the wall.
Mattison Christensen placed a bunt perfectly down the third base line, Christensen raced to first safely before the throw recording an RBI single in the process. Then in a one run hole,
Dykell Jones dug the Knights out, hitting a walk off single, recording two RBIs winning the game 4-3.

Southern Virginia will continue their regular season play in Winston-Salem, North Carolina against the Salem College Spirits on April 10.
