Buena Vista, VA – The Southern Virginia University women's soccer team celebrated Senior Night in commanding fashion, earning a statement 4–0 victory over the reigning USA South Champion Methodist University on Saturday evening.
Before kickoff, the Knights honored their seniors Courtney Montes, Hailey Gadd, Lauren Madsen, Matia Murray, Abbie Simister, Brynnly Julian, Courtney Pack, Addison Newman, Natalie Blaser, and Ruth Sumner for their leadership, dedication, and impact on the program.
Southern Virginia controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, earning seven consecutive corner kicks in the first nine minutes of play. Their early pressure paid off when Hailey Gadd calmly converted a penalty kick to give the Knights a 1–0 lead.
