Buena Vista, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's soccer team continued their dominant USA South Conference run with a 1-0 victory over Greensboro College, improving to 7-5-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
While the scoreline was close, the Knights controlled nearly every facet of the game — outshooting the Pride 25-3 and holding a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
After a scoreless first half filled with pressure and opportunities, the breakthrough finally came in the 76th minute. Delin Peterson created space in the middle of the field before threading a pass to Courtney Montes, who fired a shot past the diving keeper for the game-winning goal.
Goalkeeper Chloë Miller anchored the defense, earning the shutout with two key saves in 90 minutes of play.
The Knights now hit the road to face Pfeiffer University on Saturday, October 18th, at 1:00 PM, looking to extend their winning streak after taking three straight victories over the Falcons.
