RALEIGH, N.C. - The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team keeps on winning. Thanks to several notable individual performances, the Knights knocked off Meredith in four sets for the second time this season to extend their win streak to four games.
In the opening set, Meredith stunned the Knights with the final two points to nab a 25-23 triumph and take the early set lead.
In the second, Southern Virginia seized control of the match. They scored six consecutive points on two occasions, building themselves a double-digit lead. Summer Hahn finished off the remnants with a kill to level the score at one-set apiece.
Stalwart defense helped the Knights claim set three after securing the final seven points. Ryann Vail collected a couple of blocks in short order, adding to her three block assists.
In come-from-behind fashion again, Southern Virginia clinched the win in a deciding fourth set after scoring the final four points.
Aubrey Packer had perhaps her best performance in a Knights uniform. Her 26 kills are the second most in a single-game in program history, just one shy of the all-time mark. She also combined with Gracie Fulton to tally over 40 digs.
Looking Ahead
With the postseason on the horizon, the Knights now enter the final two weeks of the regular season.
They'll host Mary Baldwin for their next matchup on Wednesday, October 29th at 6:00 PM. Southern Virginia swept the Fighting Squirrels earlier this season in Staunton.
