ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team stayed hot over the weekend, capturing another pair of sweeps over Brevard and North Carolina Wesleyan during a conference tri-match.

Game One

In their weekend opener against Brevard, the Knights trailed just twice through three sets before securing a third straight win.

Aubrey Packer's efficiency on the attack was a key contributor to the win as she tallied 13 kills and a .542 hitting percentage. One of the nation's top defenses also held up their end, causing the Tornados to hit just .053 as a team.

Game Two

In their next game against the tri-match hosts, North Carolina Wesleyan, the attack once again carried Southern Virginia to victory.

Summer Hahn recorded six kills in the first set to lead the Knights to a double-digit victory. After trailing for much of the second, the team got a boost from Macie Weatherly to reassert themselves in front and eventually claim the second frame.

A run of ten consecutive points in the third would help seal another sweep for Southern Virginia, finishing with an impressive team hitting percentage of .412.

Lucy Richins finished with 20 assists for the fourth time this season and Emma Broadbent produced 11 kills and no attack errors.  

Looking Ahead

The Knights face several challenges in the week ahead. They'll face first-place Greensboro College in a huge USA South matchup on Wednesday, October 8th at 6:00 PM, before traveling to Methodist on Saturday.
