Southern Virginia Women’s Basketball Secures First Win Behind Snyder’s Career Day

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - It was a positive start to a busy weekend for the Southern Virginia University women's basketball team.

The Knights picked up their first win of the season on the road against Methodist, which also served as their first contest in league play. Anna Kimball recorded a double-double and Abigail Snyder dropped 35 in a 69-45 victory.

It didn't take long for the Southern Virginia offense to start clicking, as they went 10-19 from the floor in the opening quarter to grab the lead.

Their team defense shined in the middle two frames, holding Methodist to just 18 total points. Aysia Foster and Anna Kimball combined for four blocks to help the effort.

If last week's 25 point performance was a return to form for all-region guard Abigail Snyder, this performance was a statement to the rest of the league. Snyder couldn't miss, shooting 72% from the field in a dominant display of scoring.

Her 35 points are tied with her Head Coach, Lynette Schroeder, for the second most points in a game in program history. All of this came in just 29 minutes of playing time.
