Ashland, Va - The Southern Virginia University Knights battled through a tough series of games against Randolph-Macon on Saturday, March 1st. There were flashes of impressive performance from the Knights, but ultimately they were unable to overpower the Yellow Jacket's, and fell 7-0 in game one and 8-2 in game two. 

Game 1

The Knights fought hard against the powerhouse pitcher Ellis, generating two hits in the first game. No runs were scored from the Knights, but a hit by both Arianna Prymak and Dykell Jones showcased the Knight's determination. 

The Yellow Jacket's took control of the game early, with four runs in the first inning, and only added runs as time went on. Defensive errors by the Knights contributed to the deficit. 

Game 2

The Knights returned in the second game, showing more life and competitive nature. The early innings were tight competition, with an impressive two-run single hit by Katie Claytor. 

Unfortunately, Randolph-Macon's offense popped back stronger, with two home runs to tide the game over at an 8-2 victory. Malia Stauffer stood atop the mound in the second game, pitching with valor until the very end. 

Despite the fall against Randolph-Macon, the Knights look forward to games against Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg on March 4th, and 2:00 and 4:00 PM.
