Manheim, Pa. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the recipients of the 2025 NCAA Women's Scholar All-American Awards, with eight student-athletes from Southern Virginia University earning this prestigious recognition. This marks a significant jump from the program's inaugural year, when three Knights received the honor.

These outstanding student-athletes have demonstrated excellence both on the mat and in the classroom, meeting the NWCA's high academic and athletic criteria.

Southern Virginia University's 2025 NWCA Scholar All-Americans:

• Sadie Allred – Biology Major

• Eve Beckstead – Political Science Major

• Gracie Blake – Biochemistry Major

• Dusti Casperson – Business & Leadership Major

• Seani Casperson – Business & Leadership Major

• Avari Johnson – Psychology Major

• Alyssa Pace – History Major

• Leigh-Anne Verberg – English Major

To qualify for this honor, student-athletes had to meet one of the following criteria:

• Place in the top eight at nationals with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA

• Compete in a minimum of 15 recorded matches with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA

• Qualify for nationals with at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA

NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer added, "The NWCA is proud to honor these outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence on the mat and in the classroom as well."

With continued success both academically and athletically, Southern Virginia women's wrestling is building a strong foundation for the future.
