Abigail Snyder Named To D3hoops.com All-Region Team

Buena Vista, VA - On Tuesday afternoon, D3hoops.com released their Division lll All-Region teams for women's basketball. Abigail Snyder, a first team all-conference member in the USA South, represents Southern Virginia on the All-Region 6 Second Team.

Snyder put together a stellar season for the Knights, posting career highs in nearly every statistical category. She averaged 12.9 points per game, over seven rebounds per game, and recorded over 50 steals. Snyder quickly became one of the best all-around players in the region, and led the Knights to a signature victory over their regional rival, Christopher Newport, posting a game high of 18 points.

On the strength of Snyder's career season, Southern Virginia won a program record 24 consecutive games, and finished undefeated in league play for the first time in team history. They also captured their third USA South tournament crown in just three seasons, cementing themselves as one of the premier teams in the region.

Snyder scored over twenty points six different times, including a career high of 26 points against North Carolina Wesleyan in late january. She added five double-doubles and shot nearly 90 percent from the free-throw line.
