Buena Vista, Va.- The Southern Virginia University Knights fall in both matchups against the Pfeffer Falcons at Harvey-Dryden Field in a conference doubleheader matchup this Friday with scores of 3-0 and 7-2.
In the first game, the Knights came out swinging with back to back hits by Arianna Prymak, Chloe Nelson, and Dykell Jones, immediately putting the pressure on the Pfeiffer defense. Unfortunately, an attempt to score from third was caught at home plate, ending a solid offensive pursuit from the Knights in the first inning.Â
Malia Stauffer pitched a complete game, throwing 4 strikeouts, and allowing 8 hits.Â
The Knight defense did not give up and kept fighting until the very end, determined to give the ranked Falcons a threat. The final score was 3-0, with Southern Virginia not able to make it back to the home plate on any of their 6 hits.Â
In game two, the Knights had an attempt to strike back, but the Falcons took an early lead, running up the score to a 5-0 reading after the second inning.Â
Two runs from the Knights in the third inning kept the game in reach, but the offensive side of the Knights were unable to bring in more runs, and the defensive side of the Knights were unable to stop the Falcons, with a final score of 7-2.Â
Southern Virginia will return to their home field on Saturday, April 5th to take on the Brevard Tornados in a doubleheader at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.Â
